Join Us for the 9/11 Day of Service – Honoring Veterans and First Responders
As a Veterans Build Affiliate, Habitat for Humanity Calaveras is honored to host our annual 9/11 Day of Service on Saturday, September 13 at the Jenny Lind Veterans Memorial District Park. This event is dedicated to honoring the sacrifice of our veterans and first responders while also giving back through hands-on community service.
Service Project: 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
We invite volunteers to join us in revitalizing the playground equipment at the park, ensuring it remains a safe and welcoming place for local families. Volunteers of all skill levels are welcome, and all supplies will be provided.
Ceremony: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Following the service project, the community will gather for a ceremony honoring veterans and first responders. The program will include:

Keynote speakers, including a retired General and District 1 Supervisor Gary Tofanelli

A patriotic flyover and presentation of the colors

A BBQ lunch provided free to attendees

Music and reflections to commemorate the day
This is a free community event, open to all who wish to participate, serve, and pay tribute.

We’re actively seeking volunteers for the morning revitalization project. Whether you come to work on the playground, attend the ceremony, or both, your presence makes a difference.
