Eureka Oaks Construction Update: Infrastructure Complete, Homes on the Horizon

Eureka Oaks has reached a major milestone.

All core infrastructure is nearly complete and buttoned up across the site. That includes:

  • All underground utilities installed
  • Curbs and sidewalks poured
  • Streets completed
  • Lots cut and graded
  • Retaining walls installed
  • Street lights and signage in place
  • Park and common areas fully completed

What was once raw land is now a fully built-out neighborhood taking shape in Angels Camp.

This is a significant step forward for the largest Habitat development in California history — and for the 107 families who will one day call Eureka Oaks home.

What Happens Next?

With infrastructure complete, the focus shifts behind the scenes.

We are now working through the critical sign-offs, inspections, and final documentation required to release funding for the first homes. This phase may not be as visible as heavy equipment and concrete pours, but it is just as important. Every approval moves us closer to welcoming families home.

Our Board and staff are incredibly excited to see vertical construction take shape — and even more excited to welcome our first families into their homes this year.

Preparing Our Future Homeowners

We recently hosted our first Homeowner Orientation classes, led by Lisa Minyard and Scott Steed from our Homeownership Team.

They are guiding future homeowners through every step of the journey. Families qualify through three core principles:

  • Demonstration of Need
  • Willingness to Partner
  • Ability to Qualify for an Affordable Mortgage

These orientations mark the beginning of a life-changing partnership — one built on preparation, education, and shared responsibility.

While the construction site remains closed to the public for safety reasons, we are offering limited walking tours by RSVP only.

A Community Effort

We are deeply grateful to the City of Angels Camp for their continued partnership and support throughout this project. Large-scale developments require collaboration, and we are thankful to work alongside a city that understands the importance of expanding affordable homeownership.

Most importantly, this project would not be possible without the support of our community — donors, volunteers, partners, and advocates. Every contribution, every conversation, and every act of generosity has helped bring Eureka Oaks to this point. We are so grateful to all who have helped make this project a possibility, especially the donors of the land, Bob and Jean Holston.

The infrastructure is nearly complete. The foundation is set. Now we build homes.

And we cannot wait to show you what comes next.
