On March 20, the community gathered at the Bret Harte Theater for the 2025 State of the City event, hosted by the Angels Camp Business Association and Destination Angels Camp. The morning brought together city leaders, nonprofit partners, and local residents to share updates, celebrate accomplishments, and cast a vision for the future of Angels Camp.

Habitat for Humanity Calaveras was honored to be part of the program, with Executive Director Morgan Gace presenting an update on our organization’s work — including progress on the Eureka Oaks development, the Critical Home Repair Program, and our continued efforts to bring affordable housing solutions to Calaveras County.

Additional presentations were given by John Alexander, Executive Director of MACT Health Board, Inc., Pamela Caronongan, City Administrator for the City of Angels Camp, and Mayor Mike Chimente, each offering insights on projects, services, and priorities shaping the city’s future.

The event highlighted the incredible work being done across sectors — from healthcare and infrastructure to housing and economic development — reinforcing the strength of collaboration in a small but mighty city like Angels Camp.

We extend our thanks to the Angels Camp Business Association and Destination Angels Camp for hosting a meaningful and informative evening, and for continuing to foster connection and progress in our community.
