Habitat Calaveras Welcomes New Executive Director

In January of this year, Habitat for Humanity Calaveras welcomed a dynamic new leader to its team with the appointment of Morgan Gace as Executive Director. Bringing a wealth of experience in customer service, communications, and leadership development, Morgan is poised to steer the organization towards new heights in community service and housing development.

Morgan’s professional journey reflects her deep commitment to community engagement and growth. Originally from California, she made the move to Calaveras County from the Bay Area in 2018. Her academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a field that no doubt informs her approach to understanding and serving diverse communities.

Prior to her role at Habitat for Humanity Calaveras, Morgan worked in communications for St. Joseph’s Foundation of San Joaquin and served as the CEO for the Calaveras Chamber of Commerce where she played a pivotal role in fostering local businesses and economic vitality during the pandemic.

In addition to her professional commitments, Morgan is an entrepreneur, co-owning Hide + Barrel (a custom woodworking business in Angels Camp) alongside her husband Robert.

Beyond her impressive career, Morgan is deeply involved in community organizations. She currently serves on the Calaveras Visitors Bureau and Destination Angels Camp Boards, demonstrating her passion for promoting tourism and economic development in Calaveras County.

Morgan’s leadership philosophy is grounded in collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity. “I am privileged to come into the organization as we approach the groundbreaking of the Eureka Oaks Community in Angels Camp. I’m grateful to the many hands involved it making it possible – past and present staff and board members.” As she takes the reins at Habitat for Humanity Calaveras, she aims to leverage her diverse experiences to expand the organization’s impact and strengthen its mission of providing affordable housing solutions to local families in need.
