Building Community at the Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee

Habitat for Humanity Calaveras was proud to be a part of one of our county’s most beloved traditions—the Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee! For all four days of the fair, our dedicated volunteers staffed the Habitat booth, sharing information, building connections, and bringing a little extra fun to the festivities.

One of the biggest hits of the weekend? Our Frog Photo Booth! Families, friends, and frog fans of all ages stopped by to snap a picture and learn more about Habitat’s mission to build homes, communities, and hope right here in Calaveras County.

Throughout the event, we had meaningful conversations with fairgoers about affordable homeownership opportunities, home repairs, and the progress at our Eureka Oaks development. These conversations help plant the seeds for stronger community support and deeper understanding of the need for affordable housing.

A true highlight came on Sunday, when we were invited by Jeremy Leonard to lead the Flag Ceremony before the Demolition Derby. With the help of over 50 participants—including Habitat homeowners, volunteers, board members, and members of the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Department—we proudly carried out a 50 ft by 100 ft American flag, creating a powerful display of unity and pride. The ceremony concluded with a stunning helicopter flyover, making it a moment none of us will forget.

We are so grateful to everyone who helped make our presence at the fair a success. From booth volunteers to flag carriers, your support continues to show that together, we can build more than houses—we can build a stronger, more connected Calaveras.
