Remembering Delma Harris

Remembering Delma Harris with hands and heart.

In March, Habitat for Humanity Calaveras lost a cherished former volunteer and board member, Delma Harris. Delma joined the board in 2015 and quickly became an integral part of our community. Known for her dedication and giving spirit, she worked closely with her church to coordinate lunches at construction sites, ensuring our volunteers were well-fed and motivated.

Delma’s impact extended beyond the construction sites. She played a key role in fundraising, particularly for the Hoedown for Habitat. As former board member Rob Jarvi fondly recalled, “One year, Del pretty much took over the creation of our raffle prizes for Hoedown. We had 15 prizes and she was responsible for nearly all of them. She had an artistic gift for putting together beautiful baskets. We raised $900 in raffle tickets with no cost because of her hard work.”

Delma Harris will be deeply missed and always remembered for her unwavering dedication and the warmth she brought to our community.
